Have you been exercising your mind lately?

Much like your body, exercising your mental muscles is essential to stay healthy in these times.

We have collated a number of suggestions listed below to help in maintaining a healthy mental state.

  • Build your vocabulary: A rich vocabulary or picking up a new language has a way of making you sound smart. But did you know you can also turn a quick vocab lesson into a stimulating brain game?

  • Memory lane: While you might feel like you can navigate the streets of your neighbourhood with your eyes closed, try challenging your brain by actually drawing a map of your town or neighbourhood from memory

  • Switch hands: An interesting brain exercise that neurobiologists suggest might help “keep your brain alive.” Using your non-dominant hand results in increased brain activity.

  • Take a cooking class: Learn how to cook a new cuisine. Cooking uses a number of senses: smell, touch, sight, and taste, which all involve different parts of the brain.

  • Eat with chopsticks: Doing this will force you to eat mindfully which is good for your brain, digestion, and calorie consumption.

(If you’re already good at this, try using chopsticks with your non-dominant hand instead.)

Hope you found the above points useful. If you have any tips on maintaining your mental health please add them in the comments below.
